Real estate is big business. As of December 2014, the US market is valued at $27.5 trillion!

YourNeighborhood is a new website dedicated to helping homeseekers everywhere find their way home.

Relocating can be time consuming, confusing, and frustrating, especially if you don’t know where to start.

YourNeighborhood is your comprehensive relocation guide, covering everything from discovering your perfect neighborhood to buying your perfect home.

We know how hard it is to find just the right place to live, so we’ve done the research for you.

If you’ve ever moved to a new city or relocated within a larger city, you probably know how difficult it can be to find just the right house in just the right neighborhood. Real estate websites will start by asking where you would like to look and how much you want to spend.

You’re looking for more than just a house. You want the ideal location—the right atmosphere. New York City alone has five boroughs with over 200 unique neighborhoods, each with their own character, ambiance and amenities. So how do you find the best neighborhood for you?

YourNeighborhood is your go-to guide for researching and connecting with new neighborhoods before you make the big move.

Similar to review websites like Yelp and Angie’s List, YourNeighborhood gives you access to statistical data, local knowledge, and user reviews of neighborhoods so that you can make an informed decision.

Our neighborhood profiles provide an overview, or first impressions, of the area you are researching. From there you can dive deeper into specific data and information, as well as access user reviews, ratings, and images of the neighborhood. In addition, an update coming shortly will provide identifying tags for each neighborhood and the ability to find neighborhoods with similar characteristics.

With the right information at your fingertips, you’ll be able to navigate the real estate market with confidence and find the perfect home just for you.

You tell us what you are looking for in a neighborhood and we’ll give you suggestions based on the criteria you set. Do you want a neighborhood that’s bursting with arts and culture? Or is it more important to be near a private school?

We review each neighborhood in a number of categories so that you get a comprehensive view of your potential future home.

Restaurants, Nightlife, Parks and Playgrounds, Schools, Crime Statistics, Average Housing Market, Transit Information, Landmarks, Shopping, Art & Cultural Events, and
Houses of Worship.

We’ve got the low down on all of the up-and-coming neighborhoods in your city. Here are two sample overviews of neighborhoods we’re particularly fond of.

It’s a neighborhood of bikers, dog walkers, runners, strollers, finance and media types… In summer, enjoy free concerts, yoga, and drumming classes outdoors; in winter, ice skate at the mini-rink while you watch the snow fall on the Hudson, or take in (more) free concerts inside the Winter Garden.

As one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the nation, Jackson Heights has a special spirit and thrives on people of different cultures, religions and economic means getting along… You’ll rub shoulders with Buddhist monks, nannies pushing strollers, seniors, Brooklyn transplants and immigrants from every nation in Jackson Heights, a rich and stimulating place to live.

Once you’ve found the neighborhood of you’re dreams, you’re now ready to find the house of your dreams!

We’ve got you covered from the beginning of your relocation process to the end.
