Bia Sport Creates First Tech-Enabled Gadgets for Women

Bia Sport is the first company creating tech-enabled products for the specific needs of active women. The success of their first product — a sleek, easy-to-use multi-sport GPS watch — is proof that the devices currently on the market are not cutting it for female athletes.

With over $550,000 in initial pre-sales, Bia Sport is beginning to ship their first round of devices nationwide. Their flagship device has received rave reviews from Inc., The Huffington Post, Forbes, Mashable, Real Simple, and was just named “Testers’ Choice” by Trail Running Magazine, beating out more expensive models from Garmin and Suunto.

Bia Sport raised $1MM in initial seed funding and are now seeking additional funding to increase their retail footprint. With an additional $215K currently raised from investors like Zappo’s founder Tony Hsieh, the team is working to create follow-on devices and continue to grow their online community.
